PP pleated filter cartridges are core water treatment consumables for water purification systems. With the continuous improvement of public living standards, drinking water safety has garnered increasing attention, driving the widespread adoption of water purifiers in households. The performance of PP pleated filter cartridges directly dictates the quality of purified water generated by the equipment.
Feedwater Quality Requirements for PP Pleated Filter Elements
1. Water pressure requirement: If the inlet water pressure exceeds the maximum allowable range of the filter cartridge, a pressure reducing valve must be installed at the upstream of the water purification system; if the inlet water pressure is insufficient to meet the operating requirements, a booster pump shall be configured to ensure the stable and reliable operation of the PP pleated filter cartridge.
2. Water temperature requirement: PP pleated filter cartridges have strict constraints on inlet water temperature. The inlet water shall be room-temperature tap water, and the introduction of hot water is strictly prohibited. The water purification system shall be installed upstream of hot water equipment (e.g., water heaters). During the installation process, the water purifier must be positioned lower than the water heater to prevent high-temperature steam from infiltrating the system and causing irreversible damage to the filter cartridge.
3. Hygiene requirement: All pipelines, fittings, faucets, and other water-contacting components of the water purification system must comply with national food contact material hygiene standards (e.g., GB 4806.7-2016) to eliminate the risk of secondary water pollution.
Core Performance and Functional Overview of PP Pleated Filter Elements
As a key pre-filtration component in water purification systems, PP pleated filter cartridges are high-precision consumables fabricated from polypropylene (PP) resin. Such filter cartridges have a fixed service life and mandate regular replacement, with a general replacement cycle of one year; the actual replacement interval shall be dynamically adjusted based on the quality of local raw water.
The core function of PP pleated filter cartridges is to remove hazardous substances and solid impurities from raw water, including particulate matter with a particle size exceeding 5 μm, rust, sediment, and partial colloidal particles. It is important to note that due to the limited dirt-holding capacity and fixed service life of the filter cartridge, strict compliance with the manufacturer's operating specifications is mandatory during the service period. Improper operation may lead to structural damage or performance degradation of the filter cartridge, which in turn may result in the malfunction of the water purification system or the purified water failing to meet the specified quality standards.
